How did the desire to dress the soul in happiness and the body in beautiful clothes lead to the creation of own business?

Oksana Pelekh, the winner of the Business Ideas and Startups Contest held within the framework of the Project "Makership, innovations, and entrepreneurship in the Chervonograd Coal Microregion", shared her story of how she managed to carry her passion for sewing through the years. Moreover, she transformed her skills into an interesting and incredibly relevant business idea!

Ms. Oksana's mission is closely connected with her life's work, and her understanding of the human soul and desire to help others have created an incredible success story. You can read more about the journey of the founder of the "DivaM" Sewing Art Center below.

I grew up in a tiny village named Horodyshche with my grandma Pavlina. She loved to embroider and sew, and I guess that’s where I got my love for crafting.

By age 14, I was already sewing some clothes for myself, my mom, and my aunt. I even made my prom dress! That was just the beginning, as I continued to learn through numerous courses, took individual lessons, and practiced extensively.

For about ten years, I ran a sewing business and had my own store-atelier in Sosnivka. Eventually, I decided to pursue another passion and studied to become a psychologist. But, as they say, you can't escape your destiny.

The tragic events in our country demanded decisive action from every Ukrainian, so I decided to support my fellow citizens by doing what I do best - sewing. From the very first days, there was a great need for tactical vests, so that's where my volunteering and... return to sewing began.

Over time, I've gathered a team of incredible women, true professionals, united by shared Christian values. Like me, they are eager to serve the people of our region with their talents and skills. It was from this desire that the idea of creating the "DivaM" Sewing Art Center was born. In this space, I plan to conduct sewing courses, as I firmly believe that everyone can learn to create clothes for themselves and their loved ones!

We congratulate Ms. Oksana and wish her continued creative inspiration. We are certain that the "DivaM" Sewing Art Center will contribute significantly to the world of beauty and art.
