Sweet success: how Mariia Kirychuk created her own pastry studio!
Mariia Kirychuk, the winner of the Business Ideas and Startups Competition held within the framework of the "Makership, innovations and entrepreneurship in the Chervonohrad coal microregion" project, shared her story of how she transformed her home kitchen into a pastry studio that has gained popularity among local residents.

Despite all the challenges, the confectionery industry continues to develop dynamically. And it's no surprise, as it's hard to imagine a celebration — whether it's a birthday, wedding, or just a cozy gathering with friends — without a delicious cake, exquisite pastry, or aromatic baked goods.
My story begins in my childhood. I often helped my grandmother in the kitchen, participating in the preparation of various sweets. It started as a passion, a hobby, and eventually became my calling.
The turning point was in 2020. I had just returned from abroad, and there was only a week left until my son’s birthday. All the local pastry chefs were fully booked, so I decided to make the cake and design the candy bar myself. My family and friends were impressed with the result, and after the celebration, when I shared the photos on Facebook and Instagram, many acquaintances started asking where I had ordered such beauty. These photos helped me find my first clients! It felt like a sign: "Mariia, it’s time to act!" And so I began my sweet business, which captivated me more and more each day.
The internet was my first source of knowledge, and I discovered that there is a wealth of valuable free information available, you just need to know where to find it. In addition, I drew knowledge and inspiration from books, and eventually, I decided to take pastry courses. The most important thing for me is practice and personal experience. I believe that success and mastery in any craft come only through continuous learning and improving your skills.
Today, my sweets workshop @mariia_kirychuk_bakery can be found on Facebook and Instagram. There you will find a variety of my sweet masterpieces: from classic sponge cakes to refined French macarons (which, by the way, are my clients' favorites), delicate meringue rolls, cheesecakes, and tarts. I strive to surprise with new flavors and fillings, and I create cake decorations based on individual preferences, as each dessert should be special, just like the occasion for which it is made.
Nowadays, consumers are more conscious and demanding, and for many, health has become a priority. Therefore, one of the most important aspects for me in baking sweets is using high-quality and safe ingredients. Even though the cost of some ingredients has doubled, I continue to use only quality products.
We are confident that Mariia has many more sweet victories ahead of her! We wish her continued creative growth and the fulfillment of all her dreams!
